Zach McNees has been a sound engineer, editor, mixer, and producer for 24 years. Since 2011, Zach has been working primarily in audio post-production for film, television, and podcasts. His work spans both documentary and narrative projects as a dialogue editor, sound designer, re-recording mixer, and film score mixer.
Zach’s work in podcasts includes shows like Unconfuse Me with Bill Gates, Here’s the Thing with Alec Baldwin, You and Me Both with Hillary Clinton, The West Wing Weekly, and many more.
Zach began his career at The Hit Factory recording studio in New York City working with artists like Paul Simon, Rob Thomas, Bjork, and John Legend. After the close of Hit Factory, Zach worked on the road recording and mixing live performances for bands like Pixies, Coldplay, Scorpions, 30 Seconds to Mars, Alice Cooper and many others.
Zach has a degree in audio production from the New England Institute of Art, and is a recent participant of the Mix With The Masters seminar with score mixer Alan Meyerson. He also teaches sound editing and mixing techniques for podcast production at StonyBrook University.
